Instead of working outside as I had done most of the holiday season I took a purposeful break to be available hoping that Remy would ask to play "Cars & Tracks". Even though he had been over several times during the holiday season he did not ask play. Though I did stop working each time to sit and talk.

Well before the holidays I bought several new items for "our" collection including 3-D printed intersections, bridges, and dual racing curves. The addition of a second "Unlimited Super-8 Kit" provided a 4th BOOSTER and more high-speed curves. I also bought six new cars, but held off purchasing a second RC car. I was very displeased that Remy got too hyper and would not listen while using the RC car last time. Besides there were still too few dual racing curves to set up a good race track for the both of to "race".

Nevertheless I got Remy a very simple RC "crawler" this Christmas. One that was less expensive than a RC Hot Wheels and can be used outside and unsupervised. So yesterday I decided to "test the water" and let Remy run the RC car while I ran the booster. The playtime went well enough, but was nearly thwarted by an extended set-up time. Fortunately I was able to do the set-up before Remy went totally off the rails.

In the first part of the video you can see Remy in the center of the set-up and unable to see half of the track. While I would prefer him on the outside of the track like he is in the second half of the video, I leave him to his own fun until he starts to damage the cars or the boosters.

NOTE: the cars on the outside adjacent to the booster failed after 2 or 3 laps around the track while the cars between the track ran for multiple laps. We decided the winner would be the first to do 10 consecutive laps. Remy won after a dozen or so tries. I eventually found four cars that could do 10 or more laps.
